Typically people experience symptoms of the menopause around the age of 45 however symptoms can start earlier for some and later for others.
Menopause symptoms go beyond hot flushes and night sweats. Changes in hormones can lead to brain fog, loss of confidence, anxiety and trouble sleeping to name just a few.
A great place to start can be to keep a symptom diary.
Try out the tool from Rock my menopause at https://rockmymenopause.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/Menopause-symptoms-diary.pdf
Take your symptom diary to your GP. Remember to request a longer appointment and ask if their is a clinician at your practice with an interest in the menopause.
For more facts about the menopause see The Menopause Fact Sheet at: https://www.selfcareforum.org/menopause/
Early Menopause support is available from the Daisy Network https://www.daisynetwork.org/
