Year 4 Maths

Year 4 Maths Instructions:

This week our focus in maths is statistics. This is brand new so don't worry if you find it tricky, we will still go over this when you come back to school!

Below here, you will find the lessons and activities organised by day.

  1. Every lesson has a powerpoint with some short activities in to warm your brain up (imagine this is me teaching you what you need to know),
  2. Then there is a main task for after you have watched the powerpoint (imagine this is you completing your work independently). There are answers to these at the end of the activity so you can mark them.
  3. On some days, there are even some challenge questions for after your main activity for you to have a go at if you feel like you can push yourselves (imagine these are your deep dive tasks at the end of the lesson). The answers to these are a separate document and are called 'Extra Challenge Answers'.

The main activity tasks are sometimes set out differently. Sometimes you will have 2 different documents - one that says secure and one that says confident. If you feel okay with the task, have a go at the secure one, if you feel like you've really understood the learning and want a challenge go with the confident one. Other times, the tasks are all in one document, there are stars on the top left corner 1 - not feeling confident, 2 - secure, 3 - confident. You can choose which one you want to complete based on how you feel about the learning. You do not have to complete all of them, just the ones with the star you have chosen.

These sheets do not need to be printed out. Children can answer the questions in their red learning journal just like how they would usually questions out of a text book at school.

Any questions, please email me.
