Week 7 W/C 18th May





Day 1


The link above is a video of the book Monkey Puzzle, this week’s activities will be based around this book.


Can you write me a sentence describing your Mum or/and Dad? E.g. My Mum is short and wears glasses.  Don’t forget to use: capital letters, finger spaces and a full stop at the end.


You could describe any other members of your family as well.

Each day please could you read your school book or a book with an adult at home.


During the week, it is also important to continue learning phonics on https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/.

Day 2

Can you write me a sentence about what animal you would be if you lived in the jungle and why?


E.g. If I lived in the jungle I would be a tiger because i could climb trees and run fast. Don’t forget to use: capital letters, finger spaces and a full stop at the end.

Day 3

Download the document called Animals and their Young (below).

Can you match the adult animals to their babies? When you have matched them, can you write their names?


E.g. Dog and puppy, sheep and lamb etc..


Which is your favourite?

Day 4

In the story Monkey puzzle the butterfly gets confused guesses the monkeys mum wrong from the clues the baby monkey gives. E.g. baby monkey says “ she brown and furry and nice to cuddle”, the butterfly takes monkey to a bat, can you think of any other animals that the butterfly could have taken monkey to?


Monkeys also gives these clues:

“ She lives in the tree tops way up high “


“She has got no wings at all “


What other animals could butterfly have taken monkey to?


Day 5

In the book monkey is missing mum, how do you think the monkey is feeling?  How do you feel missing your friends and family? Can you write me a couple of sentences to tell me who you are missing? What you will do when you get to see them? And how you will feel when lockdown is over?
