Day 1

This week, we will be continuing with the theme of healthy eating! Download the text ‘The Healthy Humble Carrot’ that is in the resources section below. Read it carefully to learn lots of facts about carrots. You could highlight or colour in any words you don’t understand and discuss them with an adult.

Then, download and complete the work for Monday 22^nd June – Finding key features of an information text.

Each day please could you read your school book or a book with an adult at home.

Phonics for this week Mrs Ramsdale’s Group focus on alternative pronunciations of ‘oa’. Follow the link and scroll down to the 5c investigating sounds activities to explore ‘oa’.

Day 2

Today, you will be researching your own facts and information about a fruit or vegetable of your choice. Download and complete the work for Tuesday 23^rd June – Researching facts.

Day 3

Today, you will be learning how to use a comma list. Download and complete the work for Wednesday 24^th June – Comma lists.

Day 4

Today, you will need to follow the ppt listed in the literacy resources below. This will guide you through how to use conjunctions in your information writing. Thursday 25^th June – using conjunctions.

Day 5

 Today, you will be beginning to write your information leaflet!

Download and look at the powerpoint Friday 26^th June – Beginning to write your leaflet. This will tell you in more detail about todays tasks which are to: write your title, write the opening and add pictures.

After you have looked a the ppt, you should log onto purple mash and begin the 2do: information leaflet.

You will be adding to this piece of work next week, so do not be tempted to do more work than you need to today.
