Day 1


Today, you are going to watch or read the story ‘I will not ever never eat a tomato’ by Lauren Childs. Lola is a very fussy eater, and she refuses to eat lots of foods!

When you are listening/watching think about these questions:  How does Charlie keep convincing Lola to eat healthy food? In the end, Lola eats the tomato. Why?
Download the document: Monday 15th June – To answer comprehension questions related to the text. Complete the task in your yellow books.

Each day please could you read your school book or a book with an adult at home.


Phonics for this week Mrs Ramsdale’s Group focus on alternative pronunciations of ‘igh’. Follow the link and scroll down to the 5c investigating sounds activities to explore ‘igh’.





Mrs Tucker’s Group are focusing on the spelling rules for adding –er to adjectives where no change is needed in the root word.

Download the document: Tuesday 16th June – Mrs Ramsdale’s poem. Read the poem I have written related to the story you watched yesterday and complete the activities.  

Day 3

Read the poem once again. Then, have a look in your kitchen cupboards for healthy fruit or vegetables that you have. Imagine you are Charlie, and need to convince your little sister to eat these healthy items. What could they be?

How many creative ideas can you come up with? Write them in your yellow book.
