Day 1

Today, we will be learning about different ‘post’ that we may receive through our letter box. Have a look at different kinds of letters, packages, leaflets… anything you may have received at home. Can you read any of the words? What is the purpose of these different kinds of letters? Do they have a stamp? Or an address on them? Explore them together.

Each day please could you read your school book or a book with an adult at home.

During the week, it is also important to continue learning phonics.

Go to the Phonics play website and play the free phonics games for phase 2.

Picnic on Pluto is a good game to practice real and nonsense words.

Pick a picture is perfect for practicing writing with phase 2 sounds.

In maths, you will be recapping learning that we have already begun at school.

Today, remember all the items that had been posted through your letter box. Then, go onto read the Jolly Postman using the link above. What kind of post/letters do you see in the story? Why do people send or receive them?

Day 3

Today, focus on the letter that Goldilocks sent to baby bear. Read it together, then answer these questions verbally.

 Who is the letter to? Who is it from?

Why did Goldilocks send the letter? What is her Daddy going to do? What does Goldilocks invite baby bear to? Do you think baby bear will accept her apology? How do you think baby bear is feeling after receiving the letter? Why?  

Day 4

Baby bear has forgiven Goldilocks and really wants to go to her party. He needs to reply to her letter and tell her that they will be going to the party. What could you write on a letter to Goldilocks? Talk about your letter and practice it out loud. You could draw some pictures to help you remember what you want to write tomorrow.

Day 5

Can you write a letter to Goldilocks today?

E.g To Goldi,

I will come to your party.
