Day 1 |
INSET DAY |
Each day please could you read your school book or a book with an adult at home.
During the week, it is also important to continue learning phonics. Log onto purple mash to locate the spellings for this week.
Go to the Phonics play website and play the free phonics games for phase 5.

In school this week, we will be recapping prior learning and assessing before moving onto new topics.
Please find below a link to the end of term papers for Year 1 and year 2.
On Tuesday/Wednesday complete a paper. On Thursday, go over any areas that your child was unsure of.
On Friday, please follow the link to white rose to complete a problem of the day!

Day 2 |
Welcome back! Today, we will be beginning our topic with a new book called Lin Yi’s Lantern. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64ULAnMa0bM Listen/Watch upto 9min 35sec. This is upto the part where Lin Yi remembers the peanuts! How do you think Lin Yi is feeling at this moment? What do you think he should do? Buy the peanuts, or buy a lantern? Draw a thought bubble and write inside what Lin Yi may be feeling at this moment and what he is going to do. |

Day 4 |
Today, listen to all of the story to the very end! Then, think about these questions: How would you describe Lin Yi? What does he do that is good? How does he help his family in the story? What do you think about him? Then, open the document below for Thursday 7th and choose a worksheet that you believe suits your child’s learning. |

Day 5 |
Today, we will be describing the final picture in the story. Open the document for Friday 8th January and follow the instructions. |
