Day 2

Recap the part of the story read yesterday. What did you think would happen next? Read on and find out what happens next. Listen carefully to remember how the little girl stays safe. How did she keep safe? Why won’t she ever have a dragon round for tea again?

Can you act out the ways that you can keep safe in a fire?

Day 3

Today, read the Dragon’s Fire Safety Rhyme and act out the ways to keep yourself safe.

Then, make your very own fire safety badge with your name on! Teach another person in your household how to stay safe around fire.

Day 4

After a Fire Officer has been to a fire, they need to write a report all about it!

Show the children the report template.

Then, show them how to complete the form, step by step. Use the story as stimulus for the information.

Then, practice writing key words that they will need to write their own report… e.g. fire.

Day 5

Recap the Fire Safety Officer report from yesterday, and allow your child to have a go writing their own! They can use your example from yesterday to help them. It can be a fire of their choosing, maybe a fire at the park, or in a bed room.

In Topic, we are learning about Bonfire night, follow the link below to find three activities that you can do at home.  https://classroom.thenational.academy/units/bonfire-night-e140
