Day 1

This week we are looking at a different rhyming book each day.

 

The first book is

 

“Never shake a rattle snake”

Ask the children if they can spot the rhyming words.

 

Can the children go on a rhyming hunt? Is there anything they can find inside or outside that rhymes? Can they write these down?

Each day please could you read your school book or a book with an adult at home.

 

During the week, it is also important to continue learning phonics on https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/.

 

Can you write these sentences?

 

Are all children good at sports?

Have you seen a trail left by a snail?

Do fish paint windmills?

Do you want to fly in the sky?

Can the children spot the rhyming words in the book?

 

Can the children make up their own rhyming words for their own pets, mummy and daddies names or their pets names and write them down?

 

Day 3

Tell the children that we are going to make some silly soup!

 

Model this to the children, placing some silly things that rhyme into a bowl and singing the song, were going to make some silly soup.

 

Day 4

Can the children write their own recipe for making silly soup? The children can use anything that they can rhyme to put in the silly soup.

 

Day 5

Today we will be doing a little sports day for the reception children, can you send in any photos of you doing any sports?
